Cookie Notice

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. They are often used to remember your preferences, to keep you signed in, or to track your activity across different websites.
2. What we use on this website
Very little. This website does not set any cookies of its own.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. We do not use tracking pixels, tag managers, session recording or social media trackers. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not share information about your visit with advertisers.
We do use a privacy-focused analytics service, Plausible, to count how many people visit each page. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and collects nothing that could identify you personally. We use it to understand which pages are read and where visitors arrive from, not to follow individuals. Plausible publishes its own data policy at plausible.io.
The fonts and styling on this site are served from our own website rather than from a third party, so simply reading a page sends nothing about you to anyone else.
3. Our website host
Our website is hosted by Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify keeps standard server logs when a page is requested. These include the IP address the request came from, the page requested, the time, and basic technical details about the browser. This is ordinary infrastructure logging used to run the site securely and reliably, and it happens whether or not any cookies are set.
4. The survey form
Our survey page contains a form provided by Tally, which is embedded from tally.so.
When you interact with that form, Tally may set cookies or store data in your browser. This is generally used to make the form work properly, for example to remember your progress if you do not finish in one go, and to prevent duplicate or automated submissions. This processing is carried out by Tally, and their own privacy and cookie policies apply to it. You can read them at tally.so.
If you do not visit our survey page, no Tally cookies are set.
5. Why we do not show a cookie banner
Under UK law, a website must ask for your consent before storing or reading information on your device, unless it is strictly necessary for a service you have asked for. Cookie banners exist because most websites do exactly that, usually for advertising or tracking.
This site does not. Our analytics service stores nothing on your device and sets no cookies, so there is nothing here that requires your consent, and nothing for you to click through.
The one exception is the survey form described in section 4, which is provided by Tally and is part of the service you have chosen to use.
If we ever introduce cookies that do require consent, we will ask you first and update this notice before we do.
6. How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete existing ones, or be warned before one is set. The help pages for your browser will explain how.
Blocking cookies will not stop you reading this website. It may stop the survey form working correctly, because that form is provided by Tally.
7. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if we change how the website works. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
